The walk was to make Jesus known to the populace
As part of the Mckweon's Missions Week Celebration of the CoP, the Konongo District Youth Ministry, has embarked on a health walk through the principal streets of Konongo dubbed "Saving The Lost" and slogan "Marching For Health; Possessing The Nations".
The walk was to make Jesus known to the populace and also to bring all members of the Youth Ministry within the District in one accord, propagating the good news, possessing the Konongo township and transforming lives onto Christ.
The Soul Winning Evangelism Walk was preceded by a fifteen minutes of physical exercise intended to keep members physically healthy to possess and transform nations.
Amidst brass band, members sang songs and raised placards displaying inscriptions such as "Jesus is the only way", "Jesus is coming soon", "Hell will be too Hot", "Are you a Citizen of Heaven?" among others.
Speaking to the Assembly of the Youth, the District Youth leader, Elder Nii Sackey Theophilus expressed his joy for the exuberance shown by the members in responding to the call.
He admonished them to lead exemplary lives so that the lost within the community would be drawn to Christ thereby fulfilling the great commission.
Deaconess Gladys Boakye observed some members dropped litter on the way and advised that, as agents of transformation, such a behaviour was not worthy of practice.
On his part, the Area leader, Pastor Isaac Ayiku Quarshie applauded the youth leadership for organizing such a successful program.
He touched on the introduction of the placards bearing the Gospel messages and the brass band as giving colours to the program. He assured that the Area would adopt this in its program.
The program was graced by the Area Youth Leader who is also the Head Pastor of Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC-Konongo), Pastor. Isaac Ayiku Quarshie.
Some officers of the church, including Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses were also present to support make the program a success.
