Reverend Jonas Comos Kwami Kumah Tengey, the Greater Accra Regional Pastor of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has challenged Christians to stand firm in their faith and not to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

Quoting from the Bible, Rev Tengey said: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."

He said the gospel, which means good news refers to the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the Salvation of mankind.

He noted that the gospel had the power to transform people's lives and society.

Rev Tengey said this over the weekend in his homily at the GCCI Tema District Easter Convention on the theme "Imitating Christ Jesus".

The four-day Easter Convention, is being attended by congregants from seven branches of GCCI Tema District: Tema Main, Tema Newtown, Grace Temple, Maranatha Assembly, Mount Zion Temple, City of Refuge and Prampram Assembly.

Rev Tengey urged Christians to use their spiritual gifts and talents for the common good of the Church.

He said no matter how powerful a Christian might be, he must have self-denial for the shake of Jesus Christ.

He said without love, the Christian's spiritual gifts and talents were in vain.

Speaking on the topic "The Gospel of Jesus Christ: The Only Hope of the World", the Regional Pastor noted that the crufixition, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ saves mankind from the power of sin and gives them the right standing before God.

"Without the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no salvation," Rev Tengey stated.

He said there was no power anywhere in this world for people who want to live perfect lives, except through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
