(Hon) Eric Amoateng, the former member of parliament, now facing charges of conspiracy to transport and distribute heroin in the United States is planning to run for the highest office of the land from the county jail in New York.

According to sources close to Amoateng, the MP plans to form an exploratory committee on June 30th.

Meawhile, Amoateng has created a fundraising committee that will allow him to begin raising money for the possible presidential campaign, according to a source.

The embatled MP is yet to decide if he runs on the New Patriotic Party(NPP) ticket or as an independent candidate.
