Evil Men Are After Sepa Yankey’s Blood

Some vicious political elements in this country are after the ‘blood’ of the Minister of Health, Dr George Sepa Yankey. The Heath Minister who is undoubtedly a ‘star minister’ in the Mills-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government is being sought after purely for vindictive political purposes, intelligence information available to The Catalyst indicates. These elements have employed several means in the recent past in trying to destroy the industrious minister but failed, including his being thrown into jail under the erstwhile NPP government together with 2 others like a common criminal.

Not satisfied with that evil scheme of making sure he served time in jail after putting him on trial on, what was widely believed to be, a trumped-up charge of ‘wilfully causing financial loss to the state,’ these evil men, since he became minister in the Mills government, have tried severally in vain to entrap him by financial inducements, The Catalyst has learnt.

When this vicious plan also failed because Dr Yankey is not the 'property owning' type of politician who goes grabbing all manner of kickbacks left, right and centre to amass ill-gotten wealth at the expense of the poor masses of the people of Ghana, his detractors have now switched their strategy to 'give the dog a bad name and hang it' in trying hard to make sure he is implicated in the questionable bribery allegation at all costs.

The raging unsubstantiated Mabey & Johnson bribery allegation, intelligence information available to The Catalyst indicates, is a grand scheme by the ‘pull-him-down’ elements who are bent on making sure that President Atta Mills does not realise his ‘Better Ghana’ agenda for the benefit for the poor masses of the people of Ghana. Even though, according to the intelligence report, this evil scheme can be said to be targeted mainly at Dr Sepa Yankey, the whole idea, this paper can state is to eventually weaken the Mills-led NDC government. According to the report, Dr Sepa Yankey has moved at a very fast pace in terms of performance as Minister of Health within the short period of time that he has occupied that office, and thus has become a threat to the NPP whose schemers are becoming increasingly uncomfortable with him. Their fear is that the rest of the ministers are beginning to emulate the good example of Dr Yankey, which will definitely make it very difficult for the NPP to come to power again in the shortest possible time.

As a result, our intelligence information has it that, meetings have been held by some of these elements and a firm decision taken to the effect that they would do everything in their power to destroy the hardworking minister, hoping that his tragic demise will eventually weakening the NDC government. Dr Yankey is one of the Ghanaian officials named to have allegedly received bribes from Mabey and Johnson, a British construction firm whose new management claimed its predecessors offered the bribes.

Apart from Dr Obed Asamoah and Mr Kwame Peprah and NPP’s Boniface Saddique who spoke on the issue, Dr Yankey and the others are yet to make any comment publicly in that regard.

Credible information reaching The Catalyst however suggests that Dr Yankey, who is beaming with confidence that he will sail through the raging storm unscathed, will in a matter of days state his position on the matter publicly.
