John Mensah In Divorce Suit.?

Ex-Black Stars captain, John Mensah and his wife Henrietta are said to go their separate ways after series of domestic problems. The Mensahs are reportedly heading for court, after attempts to resolve the impasse between them has yielded no dividends.

According to a reliable source, the 30-year old has cheated on his wife with a young lady, a student of the University of Ghana. He recently even fathered a boy with the said lady.

The source went on that Mensah has been on a collision course with his wife ever since he met his student lover and doesn’t see eye-to-eye with Henrietta, who has four children with him.

The player is said to have shunned his parental responsibilities leaving the upkeep of the four kids to the wife

“He no longer performs his responsibility as a husband. The ‘chop money’ for the upkeep of their four children and utilities at his Trasacco residence has reduced to an all time low,” the source disclosed.

The central defender the source added often sneaks into town from his France base and lodges at a hotel without the knowledge of his family. Mensah, who led prayers during his days as Black Stars captain is now a ‘poster boy’ of many Night Clubs in the capital.

Due to the growing tension between Mensah and his wife, the former love birds have sought to divorce, which was decided last year after several attempts to bring the defender to order proved unsuccessful.

The player has subsequently been served notice of divorce, but has yet to agree on compensation terms.

Sources picked from court has it that, lawyers of the two parties are now negotiating on a settlement package.

Mensah was not readily available for comments likewise his wife, Henrietta.

The player has been without a club after completing a six-month loan deal with Stade Rennes. His inactivity last year saw Asamoah Gyan handed the Black Stars armband and him being assigned the seemingly ‘non-existent’ general captain role.
