Diego Maradona is among a host coaches keen to replace Milovan Rajevac who quit as coach of World Cup quarter-finalists Ghana after failing to agree a new contract

Maradona is out of work since leaving his position as Argentina coach.

"It's true (Maradona is interested). Diego and I talked about it and it is a project that attracts us. He is willing but has not been contacted yet," said Alejandro Mancuso, one of Maradona’s assistants during his coaching spell.

Rajevac’s departure means all six coaches in charge of African teams at the World Cup have now left their posts. Algeria’s Rabah Saadane resigned earlier this month while the coaches of Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and South Africa departed after the tournament.
