NPP PLANS CHAOS IN ELECTION 2012
The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which has a history of causing insecurity in the country as a way of winning power, is at it again. This time, as part of a diabolic and ambitious strategy to win over 70% of the votes in the Eastern Region, the “All die-be-die” party intends to use a Nigeria-Fulani group based at Nkawkaw Zongo to unleash violence and criminal activities like rape and armed robberies in the strong-holds of the NDC. According to intelligence gathered from residents and opinion leaders of Nkawkaw Zongo, the leaders of Nigeria Fulani group have had several meetings with leading members of the NPP and some leaders of the Nasara Club, including the founder and national chairman, Ahlaji Megah.
The main agenda for the meetings is how were to create voter apathy in the strongholds during the 2012 elections.
Sources in the Zongo community indicate that the NPP has been in touch with the group, led by one Danlaadi, since it was in power.
The modus operandi of the Fulani group is to attack and rape women who ply secluded route. They are also hired by cattle owners to visit mayhem on residents closer to where other Fulani herdsmen have settled to cause disaffection from the community.
Recent crimes like armed robberies committed between on the Adooso and Nketepa and in other parts of the region have been linked to them.
It will be recalled that the NPP has used this method in the past to create fear and panic. Ghanaians still remember the infamous serial murders of over 30 women which led the NDC to losing power in 2000 but which later came out as a hoax as most of the bodies that were littered in town were never identified or claimed by family members. We can also remember the loss of people’s manhood after coming into contact with some perceived evil men who were lynched.
A resident and opinion leader in Nkawkaw Zongo has confirmed the story, and indicated that the Fulani group even deals in small arms. He said that has personally reported the matter to the police.
Meanwhile, the Chief and Assemblyman of the Zongo community have remained tight-lipped on this matter even though the assembly-man claimed knowledge of the existence of the Fulani group and its suspicious activities.
It will be recalled that Nana Akufo-Addo declared “all-die-be-die” war cry ahead of the 2012 general elections, implying that the NPP will use all means possible to win power.
He had previously warned that if the results of this year’s election do not favour him and the NPP, the party would ensure that Ghana suffers violence.
The “all-die-be-die” rant reduced Nana Akufo-Addo from a viable alternative to the Mills-led government to a desperate loser seeking to appeal to the worse instinct of Ghanaians.
It is, therefore, no wonder that the NPP is doing everything possible to cause violence in Ghana this year.
