A devious ploy by the NPP to recruit unsuspecting able-bodied Ghanaians in Kumasi and use them to perpetrate violence if the Supreme Court rules against the petitioners coming Thursday is being carried out unabated in the Garden City.
As a result, thousands of unemployed residents have been making their way to the premises of Ash FM the past few months to be registered for jobs which they have been told will be available once the Supreme Court declares the petitioners victors this Thursday leading to Akufo Addo becoming President. Intelligence picked up by Daily Post indicated that what the unsuspecting job seekers are not aware of is that they are being promised non-existent jobs in the hope that if the Supreme Court rules against the petitioners, they( the job seekers) will see it as a personal loss since the jobs will no longer be available, making it easy for them to be mobilized to resort to violence in protest.
As a result, since hearing of the election petition case began at the Supreme Court, young men and women have in their thousands been lured to the premises of the recruitment centre, Ash FM, located in the City Style building at Amakom in the Garden City to be registered for jobs. Until this week, each person was charged a fee of GH¢10 and given a registration card with the NPP symbol on it. The card guarantees a holder a job once the NPP comes to power, the applicants have been told. This week however, they are being charged GH¢5 instead of the GH¢ 10 with the excuse that the owner of Ash FM, Hon. Kennedy Adjepong, will pay the remaining GH¢5 per person as his contribution.
Yesterday, when the Daily Post visited the premises, unsuspecting young men and women were still in a queue leading into the offices of the radio station, waiting for their turn to be registered and be given the laminated registration card which will also have the individual job seeker’s picture on it.
