It has not been disclosed that Mr. Anthony E. Saoud, the original owner of the hotel property, next to President Kufuor's residence, threw out Madam Gissela Yajzi from his residence, during negotiations over the purchase of the hotel.
Speaking to Kwaku Sakyi Addo on JoyFM front page programme on Friday, May 27 for Afigya-Sekyere East and son in-law of Saoud to his host that his father-in-law got so upset with Gissela's bullying tactics and aggressive manner that he asked her to leave his house at once.
"She said she had come to negotiate for the hotel". "She told my father-in-law that the Spanish government had given Ghana a $2million loan and that the Spanish government would use it for a hospital. The use of the words "charity for Spanish Government provoked my father-in-law, who got up and told her why should I, a Ghanaian, build my hotel and let the Spanish government come and take credit for it.
Why don't I give it to Ghana and use my name Anthony Saoud. So because of what you said, I am not selling my hotel again, get out of my house, Saoud told Gissella, dismissing her from his presence. According to him, there was a heated argument between the two and tension was so high that Mr. Saoud refused to walk her to the car when they were leaving. "My father-in-law did not want me to shake her hand. Daily Guide has found that in order not to shake Gissela's hands Saoud buried his two hands in his trouser pockets until the woman left his premises.
When three days later she invited them to meet her at La Palm Royal for a second meeting, Saoud declined to honour the meeting. He told his son in law that he (Yeboah) had the power of attorney and he could go and meet her, if he so desired. Daily Guide is also investigating reports that Gissela was physically thrown out of the President's private residents by his security guards. A source close to the presidency intimated that someone high up ordered that Gissela should be thrown out of the residency. It would be recalled that the Spanish Embassy has formally denied it had any dealings, be it private or formal with Gissella Yajzi.
