All set for 2014 Amoah Under 15 National Table Tennis Open

All roads lead to the rlg/ Hathiramani Sports Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday March 8, 2014 from 8.30am to 4.30pm for the 2014 edition of the Eric Amoah Foundation Under 15 years National Table Tennis Open.

An “Executive Clash” has been tabled to be played between some top sports personalities including Kennedy Agyepong of Kenpong Travel & Tours, Mawuko Afadzinu of Stanbic Bank, Nii Lante Vanderpuije, MP for Odododiodoo and Deputy Minister of Trade, Ken Ashigbey, MD of Graphic Communications as well as Baffoe Bonney of the Castle and Radio Gold fame.

These personalities are going to feature in the special category labeled as the “Executive Clash” and it would be very exciting for the kids to see top chief executives in action.

Eric Amoah told your truly he wants to impact on the kids and youth to take up sports as a hobby or profession, aside keeping one very fit and trimmed.

He said this year’s tournament would be very exciting as players are coming from Swedru, Winneba, Cape Coast and Koforidua to challenge their Accra counterparts.

According to Amoah, some companies like ICS, Alordia Promotions UK and the media are supporting the tournament.

He called on other companies to come on board as the game has huge potential to reward the nation with some medals at international sports events.

Meanwhile, Coach Whyte of Koforidua said his boys and girls are in tip top shape to defend their titles won at the last championship.

He urged parents to allow their children to come and watch the event or come with them.

Attractive prizes in the form of trophies and medals have been put at stake for winners and outstanding players.

Alex Ayitey, one of Eric Amoah’s advisors said it is not easy organising such events on a national scale and urged corporate Ghana to support them because they have other events lined up for table tennis fans.

National coach Owusu Ansah says he is impressed by the massive registration and hopes the children will entertain the guests and play to the standard that can earn them places in the national youth team.
