National Handball team Head Coach, George Bankolley, has launched a scathing attack on the ministry of youth and sports just a day after the team failed to progress to the All African Games in Brazzaville.
The Black Fingers' male and female teams failed to qualify for the 22nd All Africa Games during the qualifiers in Niger.
The two teams missed their opening fixtures due to the unavailability of funds and delays in the arriving of a scheduled bus for the team prior to their departure to Niger.
Reports reaching Sportscrusader.com have it that the Male team defeated Niger 25-24 in their second game but failed to make the mark to the All African Games after missing their opening games against Benin and Togo in zone 3.
This has infuriated the National Handball team Head Coach, George Bankolley, who revealed that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is killing sports in the country.
“The Ministry of Youth and Sports are not ready to help us; they are killing the sport because they couldn’t do simple things for us before the qualifiers”.
“We submitted a tiny budget to them and what did we get in return, we missed our first game, we slept throughout the night on our way to Niger by bus, why should they treat us like this.
“Is sad and it’s about time we advise ourselves if they cannot help us in any way”.
