Accra, July 7, GNA - The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) will in conjunction with City Phones Company Limited organise a one day Table Tennis Championship on July 17 at the Sports Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium.
The championship, which was originally scheduled for July 1, had to be postponed due to the President's Challenge Cup match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Liberty Professionals at the Stadium.
According to Mr E. K. Oteng-Aboagye, Secretary General of GTTA, prizes at stake for the winners will be 500,000 cedis as the first prize with the second and third placed players taking 300,000 and 200,000 cedis respectively whilst the winners for the fourth position would take 200,000 cedis in both the men and women events.
Mr Oteng-Aboagye said after the championship, the association would also hold a meeting with old players and patrons to plan on the promotion and development of table tennis in the country. He has therefore cordially invited all past Table Tennis Stars and Patrons as well as al Table Tennis loving fans to grace the occasion.
