Ex national stars to organize Tennis competition

Accra, April 13, GNA-Three former national tennis stars will in conjunction with the Ghana Tennis Association (GTA) organize a tennis championship competition for players aged between 14-18 next week. The trio led by Frank Ofori includes Nortey Dowouna and Isaac Donkor, all former members of the Ghana Davis Cup team have injected over 25million cedis into the championship dubbed "ODD Junior Open Tennis Championship".

The week-long Open is billed between April 19-24 and expected to draw players from all over the country to compete in the boys and girls Under14, 16, 18 categories.


The competition which will take place at the tennis courts of the Accra Sports Stadium according to information gathered by the GNA Sports will see winners taking home cash prizes and tennis equipments from the sponsors.

.. The "ODD Junior Open Tennis Championship" aims at keeping the young and talented players on track in their quest to develop into future stars that will see the winner in the boys Under18 taking home 400 thousand cedis.


Winners in the girls U-18, boys U-16 and U-14 will receive 300 thousand, 300 thousand and 200 thousand cedis respectively.
