A delegation from the Ghana Tennis Federation on Tuesday, 19th March, 2019 called on the National Sports Authority Boss, Prof. Peter Twumasi to present medals won at West and Central Africa ITF/CAT Junior championship.
The President of Ghana Tennis Federation, Mr. Isaac Aboagye Duah, who led the delegation, briefed the NSA Boss of the achievements of the Tennis U-12 and U-14 teams in the Sub-regional championship this year.
The U-14 boys team won Silver in their championship while the U-12 boys team continued their prowess and dominance by winning Gold medal in their event to make it three successive wins in three year.
The U-12 girls team won Silver medal in 2019 West & Central Africa ITF/CAT Junior championship which is their best performance in the last five years.
The NSA Boss, Prof. Peter Twumasi, congratulated the team for exceling and raising the flag of Ghana high in the championship. He further thanked the GTF and parents who have invested much to see these young show case their best in the continent.
GTF President, Mr. Isaac Aboagye Duah, took the opportunity to inform the NSA Boss of the upcoming TFG/ITF World Junior circuit 5 to be hosted by Ghana from 1st to 14th April, 2019.
In his final remarks the NSA Boss pledged to support the Tennis federation in upcoming International event and tasked the federation to keep up the good and raise the image of Ghana high in all international events.
Present at the event were Philipina Frimpong, Secretary General of GTF, Mr. Noah Bagerbaseh, Technical Head of GTF, Coach Richard Ayi Dartey, Coach Henry Quansah, Reps from TFG and Tenolf Sports Ghana and the some Parents of the U-12 and U-14 team.
