The Ghana South Africa Business Chamber has unveiled the fifth edition of the Rainbow Nations Challenge Tennis Tournament, an event expected to attract more than 50 professionals from over 20 countries to compete at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club.

The three-day tournament, which will be played under floodlights, has grown steadily since its inception in 2021, evolving into a unique platform that blends sports with business networking.

Organisers say the event brings together corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from across the globe to strengthen international cooperation while enjoying competitive tennis.

According to the organisers, the tournament aims to foster unity within the business community in Ghana while providing an opportunity for participants to network and build partnerships.

The tournament is being held under the patronage of Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency. Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings Foundation to support community development projects within the constituency.

President of the Ghana South Africa Business Chamber, Tony Sekyere, said the chamber remains committed to supporting charitable initiatives and strengthening collaboration with the foundation.

“The chamber has supported charitable events and in particular projects under the Zanetor Foundation, spearheaded by the Osu Klottey Member of Parliament. This is an ongoing collaboration that we intend to deepen so we can make an impact on the immediate environment,” he said.

Sekyere added that participation in this year’s tournament has been impressive, with professionals from numerous countries taking part.

“This year has been awesome in terms of participation. The sporting excellence we expect to see will be unprecedented, and over the next two days this is the place to be,” he said.

He also revealed plans to expand the tournament nationwide in the future, with regional centres hosting similar sporting events to broaden participation and further promote sports-business engagement.

According to him, the growing international participation highlights Ghana’s reputation as a safe and attractive destination for business and networking.

“Looking at the number of countries gathered here today, it builds confidence within the international community that Ghana is a destination for business. The ease of doing business and the safe environment give people the confidence to come here,” he stated.
