Top 16 Table Tennis Championship fixed for Nov. 11 to 12

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA - The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has announced that the "Top 16" Championship will come off from Tuesday, November 11 to Wednesday, November 12 at the D.G. Hathiramani Sports Hall of the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.

The objective of the two-day event is to select a team to represent the country at this year's African Seniors Table Tennis Championship scheduled for Congo, Kinshasa from 20th - 30th November, 2008. General Secretary of GTTA, Kwame Amponfi Jnr in a release copied to continental event.


He mentioned those vying for the slots in the male division to include Derek Abrefa - Ghana Immigration Service, Raymond Donkor - Ghana Police Service, Ernest Quarcoo - Greater Accra Region, Mohammed Ali Jnr. - Agona Swedru, Central Region, Joe Sam - CEPS. The rest are Emmanuel Commey - Ghana Immigration Service, Eric Addo - CEPS, Eric Agyeman - Ghana Police Service and Courage Nanevi - Ghana Navy, Sekondi- Takoradi. The others are Felix Lartey - Ghana Immigration Service, Lamptey Mills - Ghana Police Service, Kobina Essel - Ghana Air Force, Acquah Aikins - Ghana Navy, Sekondi Takoradi, Samuel Akayade - Koforidua Secondary Technical School, Asafo-Adjei Felix - Ghana Air Force and Solomon Akornor - CEPS. Those expected to feature in the female division include, Akosua Ketu - Agona Swedru, Central Region, Cynthia Kwabi - Ghana Immigration Service, Lynda Annor - Ghana Immigration Service, Afua Oforiwah Owusu Agyei - CEPS.

The rest are Bernice Borquaye - Ghana Navy, Sekondi Takoradi, Abigail Tetteh - Ghana Immigration Service, Beatrice Gyasi - Ghana Police Service and Francisca Amankrah - Ghana National Fire Service, Apam who will be competing for honours. The tournament is being sponsored by the estate of D.G Hathiramani, through the support of Dr. S.A. Quaye and Mr. Emmanuel Okai with support from Aqua-in Limited.
