McLean Dzidzienyo is bent on making an impact at ITF
It’s been a tough past few days for Ghana wheelchair tennis star McLean Dzidzienyo, but he’s emerged from it and looks more determined than ever to make an impact in this year's International Tennis Federation (ITF) sanctioned Tournament, thus 2018 Nottingham Wheelchair Tennis Futures Tournament scheduled to come off from July 17 to 23 in Nottingham, Great Britain.
McLean was knocked out in the first round of the ITF Wheelchair Futures in England last year. But it was always going to be a tough encounter for McLean, coming days after difficult moment of getting sponsorship for the wheelchair tennis championship. “Personally it’s been tough. I haven’t really trained very well, but I need time to get my rhythm going,” said McLean.
McLean who left Accra on Sunday added that, " I am still becoming a force in the men’s singles of international wheelchair tennis Championship".
The GTF/ Wheelchair No.1 seed says he believes he can break into the top 100 this year. “I’m confident I can break into the world top 100. I'm It all comes down to the hard work I’ve been putting in. I know I can do it,” said Mclean.”
McLean thanked Electro land company LTD, for supporting his trip; the Ghana Tennis Federation and Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Co-ordinator of the Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Association, Henry Larbi, who spoke to onthelinegh.com expressed optimism about the player's chances at the Futures Tourney and also thank ITF for supporting McLean’s by awarding him the 2018 ITF Touring Team Grant.
