Tema Single's Open tournament kicks off on Saturday

Hundreds of selected tennis players are expected to thrill tennis fans as the third edition of the annual Baboo Sports Tema Single's Open tournament kicks off on Saturday.

The tournament which is scheduled for August 4 to September 1, 2018 will serve as a curtain raiser to the country’s biggest tennis championship slated for September 21 to September 22.

Some of the best tennis courts in the Tema Metropolis have been earmarked for the championship that seeks to bring tennis players under one umbrella and also instil sporting values in the players, particularly the juniors.

The Chief Executive Officer of Baboo Sports, Ismaila Lamptey has expressed optimism that this year’s championship will be an improvement on the previous editions.

"With the level of organization and support from the LOC and Tenolf Sports, this year's event will the best Single's Open organized and and we know our expectations will be reached ", Mr. Ismaila Lamptey said.

There will be awesome prizes for the participants with the winner walking home with a giant trophy, a pair of tennis shoes, a set of tennis apparel, tennis accessories and a 3-months gym access at Baboo fitness centre.

The second placed athlete will get a tennis bag, set of tennis apparel, 2 months gym access at Baboo fitness centre.

Semi-finalist are entitled to tennis apparel, tennis accessories, and 1 month gym access Baboo fitness .
