Black Spikers in Nigeria for World Volleyball qualifiers

The National male Volleyball team, Black Spikers are in Nigeria to participate in the 2018 World Volleyball qualifying tournament.

The competition began on July 7, 2017 and it is expected to end on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.

The tournament is the preliminary of the qualifiers to the World Championship and a win would give the Black Spikers an opportunity to contest in the final stage of the qualification.

The final qualification stage has been scheduled for August 2017 in Cairo, Egypt.

The Championship in Egypt would also serve as a qualification tournament for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Team Ghana was represented by a 20 member contingent including 12 players, two coaches, a team manager, a referee, doctor, two officials from the Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA) and a team leader.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) and the National Sports Authority (NSA) paid for the accommodation, feeding and transportation of the team whiles the GVA also took care of the allowances of the players and officials.
