League debutants, Bridge Spikers from Atimpoku defeated former league finalists, Okere United Way from Adukrom by three sets to one in the ongoing Akro-Ako Eastern Regional Volleyball league played at Asutuare.
Okere United Way won the first set by 25 to 23, before, Bridge Spikers took over the game to win second, third and fourth sets by 25 to 18, 25 to 18 and 27 to 25 respectively.
Another match for the day saw, Hydro Spikers from Akosombo beating Spartans Volleyball Club from Odumasi by three sets to one.
The team from Akosombo won first and second sets 25 to 23 and 25 to 18, before the Odumasi lads recovered to win the third set by 25 to 23, however, that did not restrain the Hydro Power boys as they came in strongly to win the fourth set by 25 to 19 to carry the day.
The last match in the men division saw the host, A.S. Spikers from Asutuare walloped Kpong Young Stars by three sets to nil.
The host dominated play in all three sets to record an overwhelming victory over the team from Kpong by 25 to 9, 26 to 24 and 25 to 16.
In the Ladies division, Asutuare ladies won by 3 sets to 1 against the ladies from Odumasi.
The Asutuare Girls won the first and second sets by 25 to 18, 25 to 12 before the Odumasi girls won the third set by 25 to 22 and lost the fourth set to Asutuare by 15 to 25.
In the other ladies match, Atimpoku ladies thrashed Kpong ladies by three sets to nil.
Kpong ladies lost all three sets to Atimpoku by, 25 to 27, 16 to 25 and 16 to 25 respectively.
The week four fixtures would be honoured at Obomeng, where Supreme Fingers from Nkawkaw would play Powers Hands Attackers from Obomeng and Court Winners from Donkorkrom would battle another league debutant, St Gabriel Volleyball Club from Konongo.
