President Donald Trump today offered an incendiary political message about the death of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, suggesting his death stemmed from “Trump derangement syndrome.”
“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” the president wrote on Truth Social.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession with President Donald J. Trump,” he added.
Los Angeles Police Department detectives are at the Reiners’ home and are investigating an apparent homicide.
Investigators were also interviewing a family member Sunday evening regarding the deaths, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told CNN.
CNN has reached out to the White House for comment on his post.
