Media personality Afia Tagor has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to reduce the 15-year jail term handed to Agradaa, a televangelist convicted of financial crimes. Speaking on the July 4 edition of the Onua Maakye show, Afia Tagor described Agradaa's sentence as harsh and urged the President to intervene.

"We are begging you to reset Agradaa's jail term as part of the wider national reset agenda. We would accept two years or even one and a half years like that," Afia Tagor pleaded. She also appealed to First Lady Lordina Mahama to plead on behalf of the embattled televangelist, saying, "You knew she would go to jail when she came to the Thanksgiving event and said she would be content even if she went to hell or passed away after hugging you on that same day. So, we are begging Mrs Lordina, please speak to the president on our behalf."

Agradaa, founder of Heaven Way Church, was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labor for charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretenses after claiming to possess spiritual powers to double people's money.

The case has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some questioning the fairness of the sentence while others believe she deserves the punishment.
