Self-Styled Igbo King in Ghana's Troubled Waters: NIB Invitation Unfolds

Nigeria's self-styled Igbo King of Ghana, Eze Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, has been invited by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) for questioning over claims of trying to secure 50 acres of land to create an Igbo kingdom in Ghana. According to Ghanaian politician Hassan Ayariga, leader of the All People's Congress (APC), the NIB's invitation was triggered by viral reports of the Igbo King's intentions.

During the interrogation, Eze Chukwudi Jude reportedly denied his kingship, claiming he wasn't a king. However, this contradicts his public claims. The Igbo King was accompanied by the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana and his lawyers during the questioning.

Ayariga stated that the issue at hand is that a non-Ghanaian citizen cannot claim to be a king in Ghana, let alone attempt to acquire land to build a kingdom.

The politician expressed concerns that such actions could pose problems for Ghanaians. The NIB's engagement with Eze Chukwudi Jude was more intense than expected, despite his lawyers' presence.
