Ghana UTM & Digital Airspace Summit Pushes Drone Innovation Agenda

The Ghana UTM & Digital Airspace Summit, organized by the Chief Executive Officer of Flyelevate365, Mr. Moses Appiah Miracle, was held on 1st October at the Fiesta Royale Hotel, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on the future of unmanned traffic management (UTM) and drone integration in Ghana’s airspace.




The summit, held under the theme “Digital Airspace Infrastructure: The Role of UTM in Enabling Safe and Scale Drone Operations in Ghana”, attracted policymakers, industry players, innovators, and regulators committed to advancing safe and efficient drone operations in the country.

In her keynote address, Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Deputy Minister for Transport and Member of Parliament for Jomoro, commended the initiative and emphasized government’s readiness to collaborate with the private sector in shaping Ghana’s digital airspace ecosystem. She noted that investments in UTM infrastructure are essential for ensuring safety, security, and efficiency as drones become increasingly vital in sectors such as health delivery, agriculture, logistics, and security.

Also speaking at the event, Mr. Kofi Owusu Adusei, CEO of SokoAerial Robotics, highlighted the importance of fostering local innovation and building capacity to make Ghana a hub for drone technology in Africa. He stressed that embracing UTM systems will unlock new opportunities in commercial drone services, generate jobs, and position Ghana as a leader in drone applications across multiple industries.


On his part, Mr. Reynold Senam Atadja, RPASS Implementation Coordinator of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), outlined regulatory measures being put in place to integrate drones safely into Ghana’s airspace. He assured stakeholders of GCAA’s commitment to balancing innovation with aviation safety while working closely with industry actors to design practical frameworks for drone operations.

The organizer, Mr. Moses Appiah Miracle, expressed gratitude to participants and underscored the vision of Flyelevate365 to champion drone innovation and digital airspace transformation in Ghana. He noted that collaboration between government, private sector, and international partners is key to scaling up the industry sustainably.

The summit concluded with an interactive panel discussion and networking session, reinforcing the call for a robust digital airspace infrastructure that supports safe, innovative, and large-scale drone operations in Ghana.
