The Supreme Court's ruling to invalidate re-collated results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and two other seats has pleased Ebi Bright, the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Tema Central.

She says she is thrilled that their faith in the law has paid off and that they are prepared to carry on with their work.

"We are happy that our confidence in the law has borne its fruit, and we are happy to go and continue," she said in an interview with JoyNews conducted outside the court.

After being proclaimed the winner in the first version, the NPP candidate was pronounced the winner in the now-quashed results.

The contentious re-collection carried out by the Electoral Commission (EC) and the ensuing declarations made for the impacted seats are directly challenged by this decision.

"I believe that this experience equips us to be able to represent a lot better," Madam Bright continued, adding that it is crucial that everyone realizes that this is only the start of our work.

"We are very grateful for the opportunity, and we also want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Ghanaians and our constituency," Ebi Bright added in her statement of thanks and holiday greetings.
