In an effort to improve the nation's healthcare services' accessibility and quality, President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to moving on with and completing the building of unfinished hospital facilities.
Speaking at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission's National Convention in Winneba on Thursday, January 9, Mr. Mahama gave his word that "investment in human resources and infrastructure will be our top priorities in order to guarantee accessible, high-quality medical care."
"As crucial first steps toward increasing access to healthcare across the country, we will continue to operationalize health projects that have been abandoned."
This is in response to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s appeal during his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) on January 3, to President Mahama to complete Agenda 111 projects.
In the campaign for the general elections in 2024, Mr. Mahama pledged that if elected, he will carry out all of the nation's unfinished projects. Only three of the 111 planned hospitals were finished by the previous administration and were not yet operational.
