Ghana's Presidential Candidates to Sign Peace Accord on November 28

The National Peace Council in Ghana is organizing a peace pact signing ceremony on November 28, 2024, ahead of the December 7 general elections. This initiative aims to promote peaceful conduct during the election process and prevent violence among political parties .

The peace pact is a significant step towards ensuring a tranquil election period, and the National Peace Council is working closely with all stakeholders, including the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to address concerns and promote tolerance and collaboration among political parties .

By signing the peace pact, political parties will commit to peaceful conduct and resort to legal means of seeking redress if and when aggrieved. This is a crucial step towards maintaining peace throughout the election period .
