A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team has made some concerning comments ahead of the 2024 elections.
On live TV, the NDC man threatened violence, stating that if John Mahama isn't declared the winner on December 8th, "what will happen will happen." He even went as far as to suggest that people should "wear a metal hat" if they know what's coming.
This kind of rhetoric is not only alarming but also undermines the democratic process. The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akufo Dampare, has assured Ghanaians that the country will remain peaceful after the elections, and that those who try to intimidate others will be held accountable.
Let's hope that calm heads prevail and the elections are conducted peacefully.
