The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is raising concerns about the potential appointment of partisan officials to manage the upcoming December 7 general elections. They're worried that the Electoral Commission's (EC) selection process for election-day officials might be biased, especially after previous instances of suspected partisanship .
The NDC is calling for a transparent and non-partisan approach to the appointment of election officials. They're also urging the EC to publicly disclose the names of appointed polling officials, as required by Regulation 19(6) of CI127 .
To ensure fairness and impartiality, the NDC has launched the “#EAGLEEYES” initiative, which will flag any appointed officials with ties to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of Election Day .
The party is also expressing frustration over the delay in releasing the list of election officials, warning that time is running out to address any concerns before polling begins .
