As the general election on December 7, 2024, draws near, Samira Bawumia, the wife of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the vice president of the Republic of Ghana, has urged participants and professionals in the Ashanti Region's creative arts and tourism sectors to support her husband for president.
Samira Bawumia reaffirmed the NPP's pledges to make the arts, tourism, and culture sectors thriving and productive while speaking at an event called "Samira Bawumia Engages Creatives" on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the Longford Event Center in Kumasi.
She also pledged to speak up for the creative arts and make sure the sector gets what it deserves.
I will be a voice for the creative sector because of my enthusiasm as well. I'll see to it that you get what is rightfully yours. You can tell I'm passionate about you and not only because my spouse wants to be president if you look at how I've interacted with creatives over the last eight years.
I will be an advocate for the creatives because I have always had a strong interest in them. I'll be there for you. I'll speak for you, ensure that your worries are taken into account for the country's progress, and see that these promises are fulfilled. Hold me responsible," she murmured.
Professionals from the media, music, cinema, tourism, and other industries were in attendance.
