By keeping his word to the Resurrection Power Ministry in Kasoa, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has once again shown his dedication to assisting religious groups. Through his running partner, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Dr. Bawumia has finally fulfilled his pledge to donate GH¢100,000 to the church, which he made during an annual church gathering.
On behalf of the vice president, Dr. Opoku Prempeh presented the donation at a lively ceremony at the church with a group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members. The NPP representatives were greeted by the crowd with open arms while wearing white clothing, which stands for purity and harmony.Dr. Opoku Prempeh, who spoke to the church, reiterated Dr. Bawumia's admiration for the spiritual contribution that Ghanaian religious institutions make to the country's progress and peace. "Well," he said:
As a result of your annual offering, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia promised to pay you GH¢100,000. The good news is that you will receive the GH¢100,000 today since it is ready. We would then want to ask you to say two prayers. The first prayer request is that during the next election, this church pray for peace in Ghana. Our second prayer is for the church to offer up prayers for the NPP's peace and progress in Ghana. Churchgoers welcomed the donation with delight and gratitude, hailing the vice president's action as a sign of true leadership and loyalty to his promise.
Dr. Bawumia's request for prayers, in addition to the monetary donation, illustrates how the administration depends on spiritual direction during pivotal national events like elections. The appeal for peace and progress strikes a chord with many Ghanaians, who appreciate the church's role in bringing the country together. With this deed of kindness, Dr. Bawumia continues his history of fortifying the bonds between the government and religious organizations. His continued emphasis on peace and national unity as the NPP's flagbearer is crucial as Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections.
In addition to thanking the donor, the Resurrection Power Ministry promised to continue its work of praying for the stability and prosperity of the nation. Strong prayers and a renewed sense of optimism for the future of the country marked the event's conclusion.
