To sound like Kuami Eugene on Watch Me doesn't take anything away from me, Empress Gifty.

Empress Gifty is indifferent by comments that she sounds like Kuami Eugene in her latest song, Watch Me. Some have compared the gospel minstrel's vocal delivery and texture to Kuami Eugene's, but Empress finds that to be entirely appropriate. When she was a guest of aKorfa on Joy FM's Ignition, she asserted that it was deliberate for her to sound like Eugene on the recording.

"Kuami Eugene didn't sing anything in that song. This is because when I recorded in Kuami Eugene's studio, he already had everything and had written it all. He has the template when it comes to himself. I said, "I don't want to sound like Empress. I wanted something fresh. She told aKorfa, "I did everything, including the backing."

She went on to say, "I was humbled to listen to Kuami because he carries something and you need to humble yourself if you want to tap into somebody's blessing." Kuami was in charge of the entire recording procedure. When asked if she loses anything as a result of it, she said, "Nothing! I'm here. That's Watch Me. Since I'm here talking about Watch Me, nothing is necessary. The fact that Kuami and I both wrote the song is what counts most," she said.

The high-life rendition of the gospel hymn Watch Me talks about how God can change negative situations in people's lives. It was written, composed, and produced by Kuami Eugene.
