A year after the singer's passing, Wunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, has made the decision to have her son Liam undergo a DNA test. She made headlines earlier this year when she declared in an Instagram live session that she would never submit to a DNA test and that Mohbad was the one who had stolen her virginity.
She stated, "I have never slept with a man other than Mohbad in my entire life, and I will never do any DNA tests. No one can tell me to do DNA on my son Liam, and Mohbad was the one who disvirgined me." Barrister Akingbolu, Wunmi's attorney, disclosed in a recently made public video that she has given her agreement for her son Liam to undergo the much-discussed DNA test.
The purpose of this test is to prove to her father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Aloba, and other people that Liam is, in fact, Mohbad's son. Wunmi had first consented to the DNA test, but Barrister Akingbolu clarified that she had been reluctant to do so because of the intense strain she was under following the death of her husband.
He said she was put in a terrible situation by Mr. Aloba and many internet critics who took advantage of her sadness. Akingbolu made grave accusations against Mr. Aloba, claiming that he launched a defamatory campaign against his grandson and daughter-in-law through the media. He went on to say that Wunmi's choice to undergo the DNA test without a judge's permission was a brave one for her late husband's legacy and her son's respect, going beyond simply following the law.
