The appointments of every Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) made during the previous administration have been revoked by Ghana's president, John Dramani Mahama.
The Secretary sent a letter to President Dr. Callistus Mahama announcing the announcement, which went into effect immediately.
In order to better align local governance with its policies and goals as the new government takes office, the Mahama administration made this decision.
In the meantime, the various assemblies' Coordinating Directors have been instructed to serve as Chief Executives.
A new set of MMDCEs will be announced soon, per the directive.
