As of January 13, 2025, Samuel Awuku has stepped down as the National Lottery Authority's Director General, according to Mynewsgh.com.

As the representative of the Akwapim North constituency, Awuku clarified that he had been elected and sworn in to serve his constituents. "In the light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament," he declared.

The former Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration named Samuel Awuku the Director General of the National Lottery Authority in August 2021.
