Dome Kwabenya, Ablekuma North's recollection is suspended by EC due to the following missing documentation.Martekie Doku Phoebe, The time is 10:26 AM today. The Dome Kwabenya and Ablekuma North constituencies' recollection process has been halted by the Electoral Commission (EC) because they have not received the necessary electoral records. The halt is in response to disparities found in the election results from December 7.
The procedure at Ablekuma North was stopped when the returning officer did not supply the 62 pink sheets that were needed. The election results could not be verified without these. In Dome Kwabenya, delays were also caused by three polling booths' missing hard copies of pink sheets. Hard copies could not be provided by either the NPP or the NDC, and although soft copies were presented, they could not be verified.
The NPP cited violent acts and the destruction of election materials as reasons for the missing documents, which were ascribed to interruptions during the initial collation process. These constituencies were among nine that were chosen for recollection after a court order because of purported anomalies in the election process. The EC has released results for seven constituencies thus far, all of which support the NPP.
Benjamin Bannor Bio, Director of Electoral Services for the EC, told the public that the Commission is committed to openness and that investigations are still underway. After more consideration, a final decision regarding the recall for these two constituencies will be made public.
