The previous eight years under the Akufo-Addo administration were difficult for Professor Kwesi Aning, a security specialist, who called it "hell."

He claimed that several performers had threatened him during that time in an attempt to frighten him and stop him from doing his professional duties.

"I had no particular expectations of the new administration," the scholar said in an interview with Naa Dedei Tettey on Morning Starr. He claimed that he was eager to go back to a time when he could labor in peace without fear of retaliation.

Although I've always said this, I anticipate to be able to communicate in the same manner. Before, I was able to write and talk, and I slept soundly. I mean, no one threatened to reduce my pay or call my previous employers to fire me.

"Just because I've been using Ghanaian taxpayer funds to train myself to do this, the past eight years have been hell for me." Consequently, I have very low expectations. Give me room to work so that I can assist you (1:28) and the Ghanaians. He claimed, "I mean, it's very straightforward."

The security analyst has previously discussed threats directed at him in public settings.

He revealed in an interview with Starr FM in 2018 that he had been threatened by SMS because of his media criticism on security-related topics.

He discussed the issue at the time and claimed that certain high-ranking officials were annoyed that the media was calling him a "security expert." In order to prevent him from inciting anger, the professor asked the media to refer to him as a "security analyst."
