Agya Koo, Prince David Osei, and Sarkodie

On January 7, 2025, Ghana commemorated the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama. However, several celebrities' posts during and after the event caused them to become the focus of social media criticism.

Even if some of their posts had nothing to do with the inauguration, netizens reacted negatively to the timing and context of the statements.

For their posts, the following people were dragged:

For a recent post on X, actor Prince David Osei received a lot of negative feedback on social media.

Following the inauguration of Mahama, NPP stalwart Prince David Osei praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party's flagbearer, for his outstanding leadership and forward-thinking style, and he expressed confidence in Bawumia's future undertakings.

The actor was questioned by certain internet users for highlighting Bawumia at that particular time in their unfavorable response to the article. His exaltation was also questioned by others for its authenticity.

Agya Koo

The Kumawood actor Agya Koo also received criticism on social media for his post on X, in which he thanked and praised outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on the platform.

In his letter, Agya Koo affirmed his belief that Nana Addo's efforts will be rewarded in due time and commended his legacy.

Reactions to the post were divided; some people thought Agya Koo was right, while others were very critical of him.

One day after the inauguration, on January 8, 2025, Sarkodie posted, "Back to gari soakings like we never left," sparking a contentious discussion on social media.

Although the message wasn't specifically about the inauguration, many people took it to be a response to the return of President John Dramani Mahama.

The rapper had been largely inactive under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia regime, which prompted internet users to conjecture about his political affiliation with the NPP. This interpretation gathered steam.

Reactions to the post were divided; some criticized him for being hypocritical, while others threatened to stop supporting him.
