Alex Ntiamoah, the CEO of Box Office Sports Promotions, has talked candidly about the enormous financial costs he incurred in order to arrange the 2014 boxing match between Michael Ayitey Okine A. K. A Ayitey Powers and Braimah Kamoko A. K. A Bukom Banku.

Speaking on JoySports Link on JoyFM, Ntiamoah disclosed that he sought backing from possible sponsors after obtaining fighter commitments. He was in a terrible financial condition since, despite early excitement, many sponsors pulled out when it came time to formalize deals. Ntiamoah raised the money required to complete the event by selling his automobile and a plot of property.

"I spoke with a couple of folks who were interested in coming and offering support. "They began making excuses when I returned to the people I spoke with about sponsorship after I had completed signing the contract," he stated.

"I had to sell my car and a piece of property I had because I had already committed to the boxers by giving them some money to begin training. I was able to raise money for the fight with a little assistance from folks I knew.

The event, which was held in the Accra Sports Stadium, garnered a lot of national attention and was widely covered by the media. Ntiamoah highlighted the beneficial effect the fight had on Ghanaian boxing, despite the unfavorable financial conclusion, as he did not break even on his investment. Ntiamoah said, "I think it's one thing that put Ghana boxing on a certain level, and I was glad about it even though I wasn't able to break even on the money I put into that fight at the end of the day."
