John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has come under fire from President Akufo-Addo for requesting that the president abstain from the general election in 2024.

In the general election scheduled for December 7, John Mahama has stated that he will face incumbent Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer Dr. President Akufo-Addo must therefore abstain from active campaigning in honor of Mahamudu Bawumia.
