Elsie Sedem Bubuama, popularly known as Elsie Lamar, is a Ghanaian media practitioner. She is the Head of Entertainment at GhanaWeb and also a Senior Editor.
With over a decade of experience in journalism, Elsie Lamar has built extensive expertise across her field.
She is a member of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA). Elsie began her career as an advertiser and product manager for Asta Print Hub, one of the most popular printing and advertising hubs in New Town.
She also ventured into cryptocurrency trading through one of the company’s affiliates at the then ‘Busy Internet’.
She later joined Media General, where she gained valuable experience through internship and National Service. At Media General (TV3, 3NEWS, and OnuaFM), she worked as a journalist, specifically focusing on politics, and also co-produced several programmes, including Captured by Women and TV3’s New Day.
Currently, Elsie Lamar works with AfricaWeb Holdings (GhanaWeb) as a multimedia journalist. She initially specialized in politics, covering assignments in parliament and the courts, before fully transitioning into entertainment.
She is the host of GhanaWebTV’s maiden entertainment show, Talkertainment, which has been airing since 2018. Over the years, she has interviewed countless high-profile personalities, including former French Ambassador Annie Sophie Avé, Stonebwoy, and Blakk Sherif, among others.
Education
Elsie Lamar is a past student of E.P.C Mawuko Girls Senior High School, Ho, Volta Region. She then proceeded to IPMC and then BlueCrest College, where she studied database management and software management, respectively. Elsie Lamar then proceeded to the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), pursuing Broadcast Journalism.
