Kwame Governs Agbodza is a prominent Ghanaian politician and a member of the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, representing the Adaklu Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He has served in various key roles, including as the Chief Whip in Parliament and currently as the Minister for Roads and Highways.

Early Life and Education

Kwame Agbodza was born on September 22, 1973, in Adaklu Kordiabe, Volta Region, Ghana.

His educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

After completing his undergraduate studies, he pursued a Diploma in Architecture from the University of East London and later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture from the University of Westminster.

He furthered his qualifications by achieving chartered architect certification from both the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Ghana Institute of Architects.

Career

Agbodza has extensive experience in the architectural field.

He has been the Managing Director of Southworld Technical Services since 1999.

In addition, he has held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Architects Co-Partners since 2010 and at Kay and Partners since 2012.

Political Career

Kwame Governs Agbodza began his political career by winning the parliamentary seat for the Adaklu Constituency in the general elections.

Agbodza was elected to join the Roads and Transportation Committee and the Members Holding Offices of Profit Committee in Parliament.

He has served on this Parliamentary committee and has played a significant role in various capacities throughout his political tenure.

As of January 2025, he was nominated as the Minister for Roads and Highways and has also served as the Ranking Member for the Roads and Transport Committee.

He was appointed Minority Chief Whip in January 2023.

Tenure in Office

Agbodza has represented the Adaklu Constituency in Parliament since January 7, 2013.

By February 2026, he will have served for over 13 years in this capacity, occupying significant roles in the 6th, 7th, and 8th Parliaments of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

Personal Life

Kwame Governs Agbodza is a Christian, married, and a father of two children.
