New Bank Notes Out On Monday

The Bank of Ghana will from next Monday place in circulation new sizes of 1,000 cedis, 2,000 cedis and 5,000 cedis notes. A statement from the bank said the these notes have been reduced in size for "easier handling". The statement said features of the reduced sizes are the same as those of the original sizes. All three denominations have security threads, which weave in and out of the paper. It said the reduced size bank notes will circulate alongside the current notes of the same denominations.
