Asanteman Association of New York hold elections

The Asanteman Association of New York, went to polls to elect a new Chief’s to be their leader on the 12th December at 127 West 127 Street, Harlem a suburb of New York and Nana Acheampong-Tieku was elected unopposed, Nana Abena Agyeiwaah aka Ms.Georgina Sarfo is the new Ohemaah Abadiakyirie whilst Nana Osei Fosu Gyambibi garb the position of Korontihene .

Due to some unforeseen circumstances that did occurre on the day of the elections , the position of the Queen Mother has been put on hold and a new date will be fixed.

The supporters of the in-coming Chiefs went into a wide jubilation, dancing, singing, chanting of war songs, beating of Gong-Gong (Dawuro) and pouring of white powder on the newly elected chiefs.

The swearing inn of the in-coming chiefs will be announced to the Asanteman Association and the General public in due course, a committee will be formed to

task for a suitable venue for the swearing inn ceremony in a grand style. The newly elected Chief of the Asanteman Association of New York, Nana Acheampong-Tieku expressed his deep appreciation to members the association for their Support, Prayers, and Advice.

"I am very humble with the trust, respect and confidence that the Asanteman Association in New York has reposed in me and I promised that , I will not let them down, I will be with them through thin and thick to defend the Asanteman Association and bring more honor and dignity into the association" Nana Acheampomg -Tieku noted.

In a very brief statement after the elections, Nana Acheampong-Tieku noted that his main aim is promote Unity, Discipline, Professionalism, Open Administration, Educational Relationship, Dynamism, Cultural, Mobilize a dynamic

team to raise funds and Progress to the Asanteman and Ghana.
