Barton-Odro exposed his complicity in Woyome saga – Abu Ramadan

Director of Operations of the Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), Mr. Abu Ramadan has questioned the actions of the Chairman of the vetting committee, Ebo Barton-Odro, during the vetting of the Attorney General and Minister for Justice designate, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong on Thursday.

According to Mr. Ramadan, the way and manner Mr. Barton-Odro stopped the Minister-designate for Justice from answering questions on the ‘Woyome Saga’ was interesting.

“Why would the deputy speaker [Barton-Odro] have a problem with questions being asked…? Some of us see it as very flimsy and can’t stand the test of time.”

“The conduct of the chairman of the vetting committee seeks to send a message that is very clear and seeks to confirm the suspicion of people that Mr. Ebo Barto-Odro is directly involved in this Woyome scandal that has rocked the country,” he stated

Mr. Ramadan said the nominee answering questions based on an issue before a Sole Commissioner doesn’t affect the job of the Commissioner; “I believe the deputy speaker if truly doesn’t have a hand in the Woyome issue should have allowed the nominee speak on the matter.

“I think as a people this is the beginning of the resurrection for us to start talking about this Woyome saga considering the way government is handling it in court; it is very unprofessional and the deputy speaker has really confirmed about it and for that matter government is not ready to expedite action on this Woyome issue.”

Chairman of the vetting committee on Thursday prevented the Minister designate for the Attorney General and Ministry for Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah Oppong, from answering questions relating to the Woyome scandal during her vetting as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.
