The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has commended Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for spearheading an impactful digitalization drive in the country as vice president.

Dr. Bawumia is in the Ashanti Region on a three-day campaign tour of the region, and as part of his visit, he met with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs on day one of his tour to discuss with them his vision and policies for Ghana, as he seeks to serve the country as president.

Delivering a closing remark on behalf of the Chiefs, after Dr. Bawumia had addressed them, Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, who is also the second in command in Asanteman, praised the work Dr. Bawumia has done in the digitalization of many services in the country, and particularly lauded him for a robust national identity system through the GhanaCard.

"You have touched on your policies in detail, especially the one on digitalization and using AI, which is so dear to us. It is really good and laudable.

"Through digitalization and the GhanaCard, you have helped build a robust identity system for Ghana. Even now, babies who are born get their identity cards on the same day. This makes it easier to trace the roots and backgrounds of these children when they grow up."

On his new policies on transforming Ghana through digitalization and making the country a digital hub in Africa, the Mamponhene urged Dr. Bawumia to be bold about it.

"Be bold and implement your new digital policies to the letter. It is so dear to us, Nananom, for the advancement of the nation."

The Mamponghene also commended Dr. Bawumia for his policy to engage the private sector to deliver more government infrastructure under his government.

"We are all asking the Almighty God to be behind you and help you. We are very grateful to you, and we shall inform Otumfuo about what transpired here today before you meet him on Wednesday," he concluded.
