Police in the Northern Region are on a wild goose chase for the perpetrators of Sunday killings that took 4 lives leaving 9 others with serious injuries at Naajong in the Bukpurugu/Yunyoo.
XYZ News has it that there is heavy Security presence in Najong but it does not give any signal of reassurance to many Residents.
Teachers who do not hail from the town have deserted their classrooms mostly from the Basic school levels for fear of further attacks.
After 48 hours when four people were gunned down at Najong, a farming community in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District has brought to bear the concerns raised about the capacity of the Police in the Northern region to protect lives and property as they are on a wild goose chase to arrest the perpetrators.
Residents who fled from Najong to Nankpanduri have still not returned, according to Isaac Nognya.
Meanwhile, the security personnel have also extended their visibilities to Ayenshegu, the community that first suffered a similar attack in which the area chief and two others were allegedly gunned down by unknown assailants.
Meanwhile, the Kpandai MP who is a deputy majority Chief whip Matthew Nyindam has expressed as worrying the clashes in the area and has called on all the legislators from the Northern region to come together devoid of politics to help resolve the issue.
Speaking XYZ News’ Parliamentary correspondent, Charles Akrofi, the MP worryingly said: “We don’t know what is wrong with them. the guns the cutlasses won’t solve the problem. we should wage a crusade against this. If we put our numbers together, we have ministers, MPs and the Second gentleman from the north who can do something about this.”
