The Ghanaian Community in Chicago gathered at the 83rd and Ellis community

center and honored one of its heroes, Nii Lante Okunka Blebodjan, former Ga-Adangbe Community Organization Ceremonial Chief. Nii Lante Okunka Blebodzan I, aka Mr. Ebenezer Lamptey, and affectionately known as: Paa Lante, was the first Chief (Mantse) of the GaDangme community in Chicago. He was installed in 1987 and inaugurated on June 8 2002. Nii Lante served with distinction until 2006. His pioneering activities with others resulted in the present day Ghanafest celebrations.

The Ga-Adangbe Community Organization presented a plaque and an

undisclosed amount to Nii whilst the Council of chiefs gave Nii a thousand dollars.
