Crystal palace head coach, Roy Hodgson has revealed that Ghanaian player, Jeffery Schlupp has been injured in the team’s decisive win over Manchester United on Saturday.
The coach made the revelation following the Palace exit in the Carabao Cup where the team lost to Colchester on penalties.
Two players including Schlupp were not included in the squad for that game which raised concerns from the fans after their team was knocked out.
However speaking after the Tuesday game, Hodgson revealed that three of his players have been injured following Saturday’s emphatic win.
Hodgson said: “We had injuries to [Joel] Ward and [Jeffrey] Schlupp anyway, and we didn’t want to take a chance on them, with others still coming back.”
The three players played a huge part in the victory over Manchester United last weekend. Ward gave his all in defense whiles Van Aanholt scored the late winner and Schlupp assisted Jordan Ayew’s opener in the game.
It’s unknown if the players will be available for their Premier League match this weekend against Aston Villa at home.
