Kumasi, Aug.15, GNA- Global Hope for the Development of the Helpless, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has cautioned the youth in the country not to allow self-seeking politicians to use them to create confusion in the country.
The NGO asked them to avoid violence and embrace peace in the upcoming general election.
A statement signed by Mr. Yahaya Mohammed, Executive Director of the (NGO), and made available to GNA in Kumasi on Friday, challenged the youth to be mindful of the ramifications of the actions of politicians. It called on Ghanaians to promote the interest of the nation before individual considerations.
The statement advised the youth that as future leaders, there was the need for them to channel their efforts into useful activities instead of engaging in unnecessary ventures. It urged all Ghanaians, organisations, the media and political parties to support the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure free and fair election in December.
The statement said the NGO observed that the just ended voters' registration exercise was characterized by acrimony, accusations and counter-accusations especially between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
It, therefore, urged all stakeholders in the electoral process to be cautious, civil and observe the rules governing the elections.
